Dear Strand Fan,

This week is our last performance week of 2022.   We’ve had a busy week so far.   On Thursday we welcomed the Excel Center for their mid-year graduation ceremony.   We had 9 graduates walk across our stage to receive their diplomas.  We enjoy hosting this event and seeing the joy of accomplishment on the graduate’s faces.

On Friday we welcomed Triton Middle School for a holiday event this morning.  Tonight is the final 2022 event for the HOOSIER FILM SERIES.   Tonight we will show three featurettes.  The first is THE PIECES WE HAVE (2020) filmed in Ft. Wayne.   Next will be WHAT TIGER WISHES (2020) filmed in Indianapolis and Muncie.   The final film of the evening will be SOME KIND OF HERO (2021) filmed in West Lafayette.   We have enjoyed presenting this series and invite you to attend this final evening of this event.   Tickets are available at the door.

DONNIE BAKER…  Donnie Baker had an incident this past week that was well covered by the TV news media.  On Wednesday night Donnie informed us that after best efforts were made,  he would not be able to perform this week.  We have rescheduled the show for SATURDAY APRIL 15, 2023.  All tickets purchased are good for that show.    We wish Donnie the best through these difficult times.

While we are sad the comedy show will not be this weekend, we want to thank Chief Mark Wiedner of the Shelbyville Police Department and the entire Shelby County law enforcement community.  Also thank you to our media partners including the Bob & Tom Show for their assistance.

Our Coke machine did it again…another flood.  This time we were not at the theater and it made a mess.   The overpressure we experienced last week caused a check valve to fail.  When it failed, it leaked.   It also caused another soda valve to leak.   Good thing we have a tile floor in the concession stand.  Below is a picture of the failed part.   Coke again was fantastic and got us up and running.

The Carpenters Christmas show was outstanding.   Thank you to all who attended.   This was a top flight national touring show.   We all had a great time.

This weekend is the final performance of the 2022 Season.  Our volunteers have worked hard to present a variety of entertainment in our venue in downtown Shelbyville.  Next week the numbers will be in and tabulated.  We will share how we did with everyone.

Thank you for the support.  See you at the Strand.
