Dear Strand Fan,

LINDA RONSTADT EXPERIENCE – This Saturday October 15!

The Strand welcomes THE LINDA RONSTADT EXPERIENCE to our stage Saturday night for a fantastic concert.   The group features lead singer Tristin McIntosh.   You might have seen Tristin on American Idol Season 15.  Tristin is from Nashville TN and is joined by an outstanding band that will play all of the songs you know and love.    The concert starts at 7:30pm and tickets are available at the door, online, or at Shelbyville Paint.

Next week get ready for some high energy…TERRY LEE returns!   Terry Lee will be joined by his Million Dollar Band to perform the music of Jerry Lee Lewis and others.  If you have not experienced (yes, that is the right word!) a Terry Lee concert, you want to make sure you attend on Saturday October 22, 2022 at 7:30pm.    Plenty of tickets are available.

Halloween weekend we welcome back SAMMY TERRY.    Sammy will be doing his full stage show AND hosting two movies.   The first is the ever popular YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (1974)  What hump?    The second feature is HORROR EXPRESS (1972).  Come in costume and get ready for the fun.  The Strand will be in our Halloween garb to help you into the creepy spirit.    Tickets are available at the door, online, or at Shelbyville Paint.

Thank you to our media partners WSVX Radio and Shelbyville News.   As we get busy, so do they.   We appreciate the wonderful coverage of our events.    We’re easy to spot on the Shelbyville News with Ross Flint’s great stories, as for the last two weeks we are on the front page in color!   Johnny McCrory from GiantFM interviews our performers on his morning show the past two weeks as well.

Our social media has been working overtime to get all our events scheduled and posted.  Did you know our volunteer who manages lives in Bloomington?   We have volunteers all over that help us each and every day.   In order to manage a venue like the Strand it takes many people.  Thank you to Elizabeth F. for her diligence in working with our artists to get the information we need.

Speaking of information, we are improving our information for performers.   We currently send a full set of technical drawings on the theater that include our stage and light plots.   We will soon be sending a complete inventory of our sound and video equipment.  In order to be successful we need to be easy for our entertainers to load in and perform.    We keep taking steps forward.

Thank you to Blue River Printing for keeping up with our ticket printing.  After more than two years of very little, we are getting back in our stride.   This week we sent artwork for 9 sets of tickets.   They always look good and add to the memories we generate at the Strand.   Thank you!

Our basket of tickets at Shelbyville Paint Flooring and More is overflowing!   They sell our local tickets.   Just walk in and say hello.   They have the tickets ready. The staff is friendly and helpful.  They too are Strand volunteers!   While you’re at it look around at all the cool stuff…we do.

Our phone calls have risen exponentially since before the pandemic.   We have two numbers: 317-421-ARTS is a recorded line that gives our upcoming schedule.  317-395-3318 is for questions and inquiries.   Our volunteers answer the inquiry line.   Because we are volunteers and work, if we don’t answer leave a message and we will call you back.   You can also text to 317-395-3318, we love that!

We are having fun.  Last weekend was a sell out.  The SHS Marching Band provided one of the most memorable nights we have ever had.   Let’s repeat the large crowd on Saturday…but we need your help.

Thank you for the support, see you at the Strand!
