Steve Frazee – founder

I am a lifelong Shelby County Resident. I graduated from Shelbyville High School and attended Indiana University. I spent most of my professional career in Information Technology and factory supervision in a large number of areas.

I am a musician and artist. I paint mainly landscapes with oil. I have dabbled in other art forms but have always returned to my brushes. I play trumpet in my band, The Strand Band. I also play guitar at home just for me.

In 2006, I became a founding member and director of the Strand Theatre of Shelbyville, Inc. Although this may have a 2006 date, the planning started much sooner with nightly conversations in the alley between my home and David’s!

In 2019, during the pandemic, I decided to try a new hobby. I purchased a CNC wood mill that allows me to do creative things utilizing my IT knowledge and my love for art. I created the wood planks for the Strand fundraiser selling our pieces of the original 1916 Strand Vaudeville floor.
