Dear Strand Fan,

TONIGHT

August 25, 2020

ANIMAL HOUSE
Strand Event at the Skyline Drive-in

Gates open 6pm   Starts at Dusk

Our final Summer Movie Series film is tonight at the Skyline Drive-In.   The 1978 John Landis classic ANIMAL HOUSE.    How appropriate it is being shown on what is the first week of classes for most Indiana colleges!    We hope you can come out and support our efforts to keep the Strand going.  Thank you to Joe Gaudin owner of the Skyline for turning over his facility to us to run for the evening!

This month’s ANIMAL HOUSE raffle was expertly put together and donated by Kurtis Britts.  Again Kurtis has assembled a great prize package.   Included are DVDs of the first 4 Landis comedies.   Animal House, Kentucky Fried Movie, Schlock, and our favorite Blues Brothers.   Also included are a Bluto Christmas ornament and a Bluto action figure.   It is a great prize package and raffle tickets are only $1.     Thank you Kurtis for making this possible.

Stage work continued this week.   We have the entire upper stage removed and only the framing exposed.    Our next job is to remove the joists and get them re-cut for installation in their new location.    The project has gone smoothly and we appreciate all the help.    We will have another work session this Saturday from 9am – 1pm.

Our business records are being sorted and filed on our Saturday work session too.   We now know how many gallons of water we used each month since 2008.   We have merged that data with our audience totals from those months.   It will allow us to derive a model for usage based on future events.   This is happening for all our utilities.    It is a lot of spreadsheet data entry, so if that is your thing, come join us on Saturday.

So far we are not making any decision on performances until the first week of September.   The earliest possibility is the TERRY LEE ROCK & ROLL CONCERT on October 24.   We have to see how things are in a few weeks to make a determination if we can safely present an event.

Until then we are still making lemonade out of Covid lemons.    Thank you for the support.    See you at the Strand SKYLINE!
